What is it?
This Makersome brand 'Borosilicate Glass Bed Upgrade Kit' includes everything you need to upgrade your Flashforge Creator Pro 3D printer to have a removable glass print surface. It installs easily with the included hardware and makes your 3D printer even more functional and easy to use. The ultra-flat glass is made to the highest standards and can be used to resolve issues with your printer from a warped bed and make preparing your print surface and removing your prints easier than ever.
You can even buy multiple kits which allow you to simply swap glass plates out between builds, giving the ones 'hot off the press' time to cool down and allow parts to pop off normally.
July 2016 update - Fabricat3D now provides an alternative locking mechanism for these beds - a fully 3D printed design which is much easier to tighten, loosen and easy to replace in the event you break it or pull too hard and strip the threads.

The first step is to install the Z-axis shim. The shim is 5mm in thickness, the same as your Makersome glass bed plate, and is necessary to stop your nozzle from trying to crash through the glass plate. Make sure you do this step first. The shim installs without tools and goes behind the Flashforge name plate behind the bed. It fits snugly between the screw posts that your bed rids up and down on. Make sure it’s firmly in place and pushed all the way down.
The next step is to put your printer into leveling mode. Once the hot end goes in to place you will notice there is a large gap in between the nozzle and the print bed. This is just what you want to see. You should now be able to slider your Makersome glass bed plate in place. If you can’t fit it in easily just lower your bed a touch with the leveling screws on the underside of the bed and it should go in nicely. You can now finish the calibration routine on your printer.
Final step is to install your bed corner screws and adjustable corners. Remove the glass bed plate. Unscrew two of the factory nuts from apposing corners (the screws that you can see going all the way through the bed at the top corners) from the bottom of your print bed. Don’t remove the screws. Slide the 3D printed positioning screw (the long piece) up over this and slowly tighten the nut up until it's able to slide into the fitted position on the bottom of the screw. After this you can tighten further with an allen key on the top of the bed - but wait until the corner piece is in place before locking this. Next slide the Corner pieces in so they face towards the center of the place, these are made to slide in and out to fit slightly varying glass bed sizes - with the final piece being the knob that twists on to hold these in place. Place the glass down and make sure everything is tight enough that your bed doesn’t move around but don’t overtighten them and strip the thread - you can undo or adjust the screws easily whenever required.
Congratulations, you’re ready to print!
The bed will still be hot if a print has just finished, make sure to use gloves so you don't burn yourself on the glass!
The glass plate in this kit can also be used with the Flashforge Dreamer 3D printer.
"This design is made to be more resistant to heat, and not rely on the metal nut to keep it snug against the bed or glass. To install this, remove the corner nut on the print bed. Fit the metal nut in the main pin, and join the corner piece and pin back on the metal bolt. Thread your printed knurled nut on the pin, and adjust to size. Once you have everything where you want it, tighten the metal nut."
